Leadership: Opportunities for Involvement

AAEM/RSA is always looking for active, enthusiastic members and offers several opportunities for involvement.

• Run for an AAEM/RSA Board of Directors seat.
  Elections are held in the spring by email ballot. The BOD plans and coordinates AAEM/RSA activities. In addition, the AAEM/RSA President is a full voting member of the AAEM Board of Directors. Contact a member of the 2006-2007 Board of Directors for more info.

• Apply to join an AAEM/RSA committee, and work with other residents and students to help AAEM/RSA provide value to our members. • Apply to be a representative to an AAEM committee or task force. Work on cutting edge EM issues and advocate for AAEM/RSA interests as a member of an AAEM committee or task force. We will send out information on applications in the summer. Contact a member of the 2006-2007 Representatives to AAEM Committees for more info.

• Volunteer to help with AAEM/RSA activities, conferences or advocacy. We appreciate any time and expertise you can offer. Let us know what you are interested in or if there is a special project you have in mind.

• Write an article for Common Sense, or start your own column. We're particularly interested in members with unique experiences or career goals.

• Help recruit members. If you like what we are doing, this is a great way to help our organization become stronger. If your program does not currently sponsor AAEM membership dues, please contact us and we can help you speak with your program's leadership about AAEM.
